Special Issue: Emerging Frontiers in Experimental Mechanics: Collection of ISEM 2025

This Special Issue of Experimental Mechanics features selected papers from the 2025 International Symposium on Experimental Mechanics (ISEM 2025). It highlights emerging frontiers in experimental mechanics across a wide range of applications – from semiconductor and manufacturing technologies to advanced characterization, dynamic response, biomechanics, and AI-enabled analysis. The collection aims to showcase methodological innovation, cross-disciplinary integration, and impactful applications advancing the experimental mechanics community.

The themed issue will mainly focus on, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Experimental Mechanics for Semiconductor Technology.

  • Experimental Mechanics for Manufacturing and Material Behavior Analysis.

  • Experimental Mechanics for Material Characterization and Structural Mechanics Analysis.

  • Experimental Mechanics for Dynamic Response and Extreme Environmental Conditions.

  • Experimental Mechanics and Multiscale Methodologies.

  • Optical Techniques in Experimental Mechanics.

  • AI and Advanced Computational Methods in Experimental Mechanics.

  • Experimental Mechanics in Biomechanics Manufacturing Application.

    Manuscript Submission:

Manuscripts should be formatted and submitted online according to the instructions for Experimental Mechanics at https://www.editorialmanager.com/exme/. The authors must select “Sp Iss: Emerging Frontiers in Experimental Mechanics: Collection of ISEM 2025” when specifying the “Article Type” in the submission system. Each submission will undergo the regular peer review process and must meet the quality standards (originality, novelty, quality of writing) of Experimental Mechanics. Only original research submissions will be considered. The papers will be published online as soon as they are accepted.

Authors are responsible for editing their manuscript for language and grammar to meet the standards of Experimental Mechanics. Language check will be performed before the manuscripts are considered for peer review. If editing for language and grammar is needed, the authors will need to consult with a professional English language editing service. Unfortunately, EM does not have the resources to provide language editing. Springer recommends the following service: http://authorservices.springernature.com/language-editing.
